Iain Mackenzie
Straight from the ‘Cool School’ of Chet Baker, Nat King Cole & Mel Tormé comes the stylish, swinging voice of Iain Mackenzie. Iain performs classic Jazz & Swing standards with golden era charm, and a contemporary edge.
Coming from a pedigree of great British Jazz musicians to have passed through the Guildhall School Of Music, Iain has gone on to perform with notable bands, such as NYJO, BBC Big Band, Ronnie Scott’s Big Band and The Pasadena Roof Orchestra. He has also worked widely with vocal groups, including Voxtet, The New London Jazz Voices, The Tim Whithead Group & Kenny Wheeler’s Mirror Suite.
His music has taken him to legendry venues worldwide, including The Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, The Royal Festival Hall, The Berlin Jazz Fest & The Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
Iain’s voice has featured on a vast array of publicity & commercials, including the recent Anti Smoking campaign on ITV & Channel 4, and on film soundtracks including ‘The Mummy Returns’ and ‘Tomb Raider 2’ & the new British film ‘Grow Your Own’.
The debut album ‘Twice On Sunday’ was released on 18th June 2007 to critical acclaim, and has had airplay on Parkinson’s Sunday Supplement BBC Radio 2, Smooth FM and The Jazz.
