Khaz

With over 15 years of songwriting and music production behind him, Khaz (Carey Stansfield) is finally coming out of his shell. He would say that his lack of success up to this point is treating the music as a hobby, rather than a business. With every new song he produces, Khaz is constantly evolving in music savvy, as well as production technique. Working with such artists as Josh Gabriel (Gabriel & Dresden) and Markus Schulz, he is beginning to define himself as an artist to be reckoned with. His influences go back to the '80's, growing up with artists such as Depeche Mode, Yaz and U2. Embracing all forms of music, Khaz has an eclectic pallet and will frequent Bach just as often as Nine Inch Nails, something that's directly audible when going through his archive of hundreds of original songs he's written since '92. His most recent venture was in the band "Departure". He shared in the success of tracks such as "Without You Near" and "Cause You Know", and continues collaborating on various projects with the other members of the band. Khaz hit the ground running in '09 with many projects in the works that are expected for release throughout the year. Khaz and Zubin Mowlaui (Departure) are working on an electro-pop album, with Zubin as the front vocalist in the name T.B.D. project. Additionally, Khaz is also working on his first solo artist album. You can say that all of Khaz's music experience up to this point has directly fed the emotion and creativity pouring into these new works on all fronts. In the months ahead, look for many new creative singles to come from Khaz. Stay tuned!
