About the band: Vahagn Hayrapetyan is one or me most famous and popular jazz musicians of today's Armenian stage. For a long time he had been delivering his brand of close harmony performing in a swing and bebop style. And for many years, lie has been playing with a trio M has created. At the end of 2004. he suddenly changed his Musical image and a few months later, he created a new band named "Katuner". The first members of new band were Vahagn Hayrapetyan (keyboards), Tigran Suchyan (trumpet), David Nalcnadjyan (alto saxophone), Artyom Manukyan (bass, cello) and Tigran Sanoyan (drums). Later, Ashot Haroutiunyan (trombone) joined the band. The latters presence added more power and harmony to the music. His trombone sounded like a human voice. The next to join was Norayr Kartashyan, performer on various folk wind and percussion instruments. With his arrival, the sound of the ensemble gained a folk spirit. Norayr is a storyteller and added the sound of nature to the music. Drummer Arman Jalalyan Joined the band at the beginning of 2006 and brought with him a very creative touch. He is more than a drummer. Being alt members of the Armenian Navy Band, Katuner proved to be a very powerful band, playing original compositions with its own easily recognizable sound. About the music (From Authors): This is not "Jazz" and certainly not "Armenian Jazz". And let's not call it by any name, we think this is our life, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Each song is original and written by a different band member, we all come, from a different background and our distinct experiences can be felt through our music.Each song has a unique story.
