D-Stroy

D-Stroy may be the most outgoing figure on stage, but beneath his blustery, outsized persona lies an artist whose passion for his craft is unassailable. With his gift for verbal acrobatics matched by an uncanny ability to twist words and meter to his own devices, D-Stroy's unique voice and flow sets him apart. Antonio Flags (pka D-Stroy) was born and raised in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The future artist showed early promise. By the 7th grade, D-Stroy was performing and winning talent shows. He Later met Tony Touch and formed Touch and D-Stroy. Only 17 at the time, D-Stroy continued school while touring the east coast with Run-DMC and Naughty By Nature. The MC featured on Tony Touch, DJs Green Lantern (Hot 97), DJ Camilo (Hot 97) and Roc Raida (X-ecutioners/Columbia Records) Mixtapes. When he wasn’t hosting clubs, he spotted a hype man position with O.C. (Wild Pitch/Payday). From here he formed a group with friends called The Arsonists who became internationally renowned for their live show. D-Stroy became known for his dynamic mic presence and stage personality. Matador/Capital Records released their debut full-length, As the World Burns, with D-Stroy a genuine star turn that was not lost on the media or the public. "D-Sturbed is genius." says Bobbito Garcia (YRB mag). As D-Stroy's reputation soared, he recorded with several artists, symbolizing the birth of a brilliant solo career. Matador/Capital Records released 2 D-Stroy singles earning the #1 spot on music charts and coverage in magazines. His extraordinary personality, landed him forays into hosting Rock Steady Crew's Anniversary and American Idol's outdoor events. Providing energy on RJ Reynolds Kool Mixx Tour with Kanye West. He’s performed alongside artist of different genre's of music including Destiny’s Child and Linkin Park to name a few. A modeling stint for Reebok, Triple 5 Soul, Ecko Untld and Levi's. Also lending his voice for Video Games "State Of Emergency"(Rockstar Games) and "NFL Street 1&2"(EA Sports). He also provided music for Fox's Golden Globe winning show 24. Handling M.C. duties on The Adrenaline Rush Tour and Anger Management Tour with X-zibit, Ludacris, Papa Roach and Eminem. Later having a radio show on SIRIUS satellite Radio and Nike’s Run Like The City Radio. He was drafted to M.C. for Universal Recording artist Grammy Award Winner, Miri Ben-Ari The Hip Hop Violinist. They performed live on American Music Awards, B.E.T.’s 106 & Park and Tavis Smiley T.V. shows. They opened up for Platinum Artists L.L. Cool J and Busta Rhymes on Tour. Shaqueal O’Neal and Allen Iverson both were entertained by D-Stroy for their separate birthday parties. Entertaining at Halftime shows for most of the NBA and WNBA teams, including Championship Games, All-Star Game ’05, ‘07 and NBA’s Rim’s and Rhythms Tour. D-Stroy recently brought his humor to film, acting in “6 in a Cadillac”(Universal Pictures). He’s worked red carpet (Grammy’s, AMA’s, MTV’s VMA’s, Vibe Awards), performed during fashion week in NY and LA (Christian Dior, Frye Boots, Ice*man Jewelry) and for advertising agencies (Conde Nast, Chiat Day and Leo Burnett). Admired by many from underground purist to commercial followers. Summer of 06’ D-Stroy hosted Sold Out venue’s in 37 cities with The Roots, Common and Talib Kweli. Followed by hosting Kelly Clarkson’s Sold Out 33 city “Breakaway Tour” (Glaceau, Vitamin Water). Holding M.C. Duties on Radio Joga Bonito and Nike's 3V3 Competition During The World Cup. He recently DJ’d for Lance Armstrong’s NYC Marathon Party and Major League Soccer’s New York Red Bull “Street Soccer” event.
