Jung Youth

We live in many different worlds; some of them lie dormant within the recesses of the mind, while others burn brightly in front of our eyes. Some are surreal and spiritual, while others are practical and physical. planted firmly in the middle of these worlds you can find JUNG Youth, a refreshing reminder that our lives’ journeys are often unpredictable yet still serendipitous. Young enough for self-discovery and old enough for self-reflection, his music blends lush underground sounds with mainstream melodies and mesmerizing lyrical delivery to carefully craft an environment where all are welcome. Teaming up with fellow Nashville producer Nephew, the duo are preparing to release an upcoming EP titled ‘Flirkin’. The project has been described by advance listeners as ‘noveau rap’, mixing futuristic and retro beats with Youth’s everyman songwriting style all drawing from personal experience with insights about modern life. “There It Iz (That’s That Sh*t)” is the lead single, an explicitly in-your-face party anthem that also serves as JUNG’s own personal stream of consciousness manifesto. At the end of the day, it’s all about having fun--so listen up and prepare to have yourself singing along to the whimsical, energetic expression of an artist who seems to be quite confident about how far he’s come and well aware of the journey that lies ahead. This isn’t his first project either--2012 saw the release of his ‘Four Seasons’ mixtape, a strong collaboration with DJ Great White, whose beats have been rapped over by Lonely Island, YMCMB recording artist Torion, and even B.o.B., and in 2013 he released a J Dilla tribute EP, ‘Duende’ with Central Parks Productions. There is much more to come in 2013 and 2014 for the budding artist, and those interested in diving into his back catalogue are welcome to visit his website, www.jungyouth.com.
