MaJ

James Hudson Jr. (b. October 12, 1997), better known by his stage name MAJ (formerly SEMAJ), is a musician coming out of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He’s currently living in Dallas, Texas, and is tempering with grunge-inflected production, soulful delivery, and nocturnal hip-hop with stark vulnerability and confessional storytelling. James was a YouTube star who became known for representing a minecraft creeper hoodie in his videos on his SEMAJ channel. He’s also made music under a couple of different aliases, Lil Creeper, SsSsSCreeper, MajinMaj, SemajTV, etc. He began his original YouTube channel on July 13, 2012, but he would eventually delete it. He created his new channel on May 5, 2017, which quickly amassed 100,000 subscribers in no time. MAJ would then go on to quit making reaction videos on his SEMAJ channel and delete everything. He changed the name from “SEMAJ” to just “MAJ” and is now pursuing music full time. MAJ has already been noticed by some big industry names, such as Nick Mira and Taz Taylor, who have actually worked with MAJ before on plenty of songs. He’s also been noticed by 6ix9ine, who even used one of MAJ’s lyrics in his hit song, "KOODA." On August 24, 2016, MAJ would release his first project, The Beta EP. It wouldn’t be till almost 2 years later on April 16, 2018, where MAJ would release his first project under the "MAJ" stage name titled No One Cares. Lil Creeper, one of MAJ’s most popular alter ego’s, is something that his fanbase would never let MAJ get away from. So, On August 31, 2019, MAJ would upload a short video onto his Instagram page of him burning his well known Creeper hoodie and throwing it away with the caption "#RIPCREEPERGANG," finally putting an end his Lil Creeper era. On January 18, 2020, MAJ would announce through an Instagram post that he got signed to the major record label, Def Jam Recordings. Almost 2 months later on March 13, 2020, MAJ would release his debut EP Majestic.
