Oscar P

There's nothing flashy about Oscar P. He doesn't have the big Ibiza residency, the big entourage, and he's never been arrested at the airport for carrying illegal contraband and appearing on TV show called "Locked Up Abroad". After nearly 20 years in the music business what he has is longevity, the abilty to re-invent himself, and a keen ear for quality music as evidenced by the music catalog amassed on Open Bar Music. In essence he's got substance over style and a reputation as one of the real individuals in the game. Oscar's diverse DJ sets have been featured on the Roger Sanchez show “Release Yourself” and the Paul Van Dyk “VONYC Sessions” this year, and his career highlights include projects like Extortion's "How Do You See Me Now" (Junior Boys Own/Polygram), and Swing 52's hit "Colour of Skin" f/ Arnold Jarvis later licensed by Pete Tong's FFRR label. He's remixed tracks for Beyonce, 2 Unlimited, John Legend, Sabrina Johnston, Peech Boys, Physics, Sasha Alazy, Alix Alvarez, and Silvano Da Silva. Traveling the world Oscar P has played at some of the most respected club venues in the world building an impressive resume of dj dates in London, Dubai, Italy, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Chicago, Miami, Amsterdam, France, Poland, as well as New York City, and Philadelphia where he plays regulary at Sundae, Aqua-Booty, and Water Taxi Beach. His style remains to this day deep and soulful house meets Ibiza excess. His fusion of sounds is quite apparent on his syndicated podcast Open Bar Radio which can be found on Itunes with over 30,000 loyal listeners weekly and growing. In the past few years, Oscar P has seen his tracks and remixes released on EMI France, Manifesto, Ultra, Rise, Sony/BMG, Time, Virgin, Atlantic, Radikal, Seamless, West End, Clubstar, Pino Music, Deep Bass, esNtion, & Playecetra. His current artist/dj mix albums include New York 2 Ibiza, a double CD mixed by Davidson Ospina & Oscar P, featuring tracks from DJ Dove Vs The Peech Boys, Hanna Hais, Sergio Flores, Angel Manuel vs. Mr. Fingers, Matt Caseli f/ Slide, Sylvio Valerio, Faz, The Houselovers, Ricardo Lopez, D'Layna, & Frank Carter. And “Time Machine” a new full-length artist album that takes the listener on a journey from the tribal NYC clubland of 1996 to the sound of today. “In the story line, I build a time machine and I travel back to 1996 and hop to 2009 to visit my favorite clubs of the era... as well as the DJs that played them,” muses Oscar. Tenaglia, Morales, Vega, “It's an adventure. “Time Machine The Album” pays tribute to the club scene Oscar P came up in, before Obama, before the war, before the Internet, before the itunes store. “Time Machine” is Oscar P's first artist driven album in ten years and is actually the 200th release on Open Bar Music. Oscar's long and distinguished career has made him one of the most respected names in creating, branding, marketing, and promoting house music. Open Bar Music is the New York based imprint of Oscar P and business partners Carlos Ortiz and Jessica Bendig.
