Amber Coffman

Amber Dawn Coffman (born June 15, 1984) is a singer and musician based in Brooklyn, New York. She is best known for her work with Dirty Projectors. Biography: Amber was born in Austin, Texas. She grew up moving around the United States, eventually ending up in Northern California, where she spent much of her youth. Musical career: In 2005, she joined the instrumental rock band Sleeping People in San Diego, California, as a guitar player. On tour with Sleeping People in 2006, she met Dave Longstreth, the lead vocalist, guitarist and principal songwriter of Dirty Projectors, and soon moved to Brooklyn, New York to become a member of that band. She has also collaborated with electronic artist Rusko on the 2010 track "Hold On" and with Diplo of Major Lazer on the 2012 track "Get Free".
