DAKOOKA

Kateryna Eremenko (Ukrainian: Катерина Єременко), professionally known as DaKooka, is a singer, pianist, dj and songwriter from Ukraine. She composes her own songs and performs other musicians cover versions, collaborates with different djs (dnb/trap/tech and deep–house etc.). The project combines a unique sound, unique vocals and poetry in English, Russian and Polish. Her voice is often compared with Róisín Murphy, La Roux, Kosheen, and Florence + the Machine. Eremenko finished musical school in her childhood, although she was not really interested in attending it and attended only to please her parents. When she was 13 years old she gave up music, later on when she was 18 years old she composed her own song and loaded it to VKontakte. Afterwards, she began creating and uploading new songs and began performing in pubs in Chernivtsi, her native city. While studying at university, she met Oleksandr, who later became her manager, director and the bass-player of the group that they created together (which was called DaKooka Live Band). In 2015 she graduated from her university and released the first album "Radha". Later on the group was reformed but now Kateryna performs alone. She has toured in Ukraine, Poland, Czech, Germany and participated in many festivals like Global Gathering and Kazantip.
