Kate Teague

Kate Teague was born and raised in the Gulf Coast city of Mobile, Alabama. She spent her teenage years writing songs on the acoustic guitar and playing local all-ages shows. After moving to Oxford, Mississippi, for college, Kate began to pursue music as more than just a hobby. Suddenly amongst a thriving local music scene, Kate helped form the adored band, Reels, as the primary songwriter and rhythm guitarist. After it disbanded, she continued writing songs in earnest, developing a rare and unique sound all her own. Now twenty-four years old, Kate Teague’s debut full-length album will be released this fall on the Mississippi collective Muscle Beach Records. The first single, “Low Life,” premiered on the legendary music blog Gorilla vs. Bear. It’s a lush, dreamy epic, pushing Kate’s classic singer-songwriter style to new heights. Both intimate and grand, the song places Kate’s powerhouse vocals in the midst of swirling guitars, a perfect introduction to a bold new voice.
