About this album

Patti Austin (born August 10, 1950) is an American R&B, Pop and Jazz music singer, known for her gorgeous yet powerful voice and a rare gift of singing in virtually any music genre with class and conviction. In 2008 she received the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal album for "Avant Gershwin" recorded mostly live with The WDR Big Band in Germany. Life and career edit: Austin was born in Harlem, New York and grew up on Long Island. Her father was a Jazz musician for a time.
